Research

In addition to my coaching practice, I’m an epidemiologist and Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School. My research focuses on improving sexual health through better access to HIV prevention medications.

The World Health Organization defines health as a state of complete physical, mental, and social wellbeing—not merely the absence of disease. That philosophy underlies both my population-level research and individual coaching practice.

Selected Publications

My research has been featured in the news media and has informed my essays on public health in The Atlantic. A complete list of my peer-reviewed publications can be found on my Google Scholar page, with selected research articles and commentaries listed below.

From Population Health to Personal Transition

My academic work focuses on improving health at a population level through research and policy, while my coaching practice focuses on the deeply personal transitions that individuals navigate at midlife and beyond. What motivates both of these roles is a desire to help people live healthier and more meaningful lives.
